Travel

Kyiv can be reached via two international airports, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport, located about 7km southwest of the city center, and Boryspil International Airport, located in Boryspil 29km east of Kyiv. Both airports service direct flights to various international destinations on every day basis. Further information about flights can be found on the airports respective websites.

It is highly recommended to exchange your currency in the airport, as many services in Kyiv only accept payments in UAH.
The typical way to reach your destination within Kyiv from the airports is by taxi. The ride may take from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the airport and destination. The average rate charged by the taxis is about 0.40-0.50 Euros (7-10 UAH) per kilometer with a minimum of 35-40 UAH. In the historic center of the city, the rates tend to be more expensive due to traffic and tend to be around 1.5-2.5 Euros (35-60 UAH) per kilometer.
As alternative, there is a railway connection to the Kyiv-Passazhirsky Railway Station for both airports, as well as various bus and minibus lines connecting them to Kyiv Metro stations.
